Daily Rituals: Tips For Creating Your Spiritual Routine For The Morning and Night

Your spiritual routine is not just one part of your day, but it makes up any of your spiritual practices. While this can occur during any time of the day, there are some practices that are ideal for the early morning when you wake up, and some that are best for the evening before you go to bed.

Keep in mind whenever you have time to focus on your spiritual journey is the best time. This is just a little guide with some tips about when you might want to try to fit in some of these practices. Each of the practices are also optional, so don’t feel like you have to do them all just for proper spiritual growth.

Morning Spiritual Routine

Your morning spiritual routine is often the one that gets you ready for the day. Some of the practices may be similar to ones you do at night, but your energy and focus is incredibly different when you first wake up.

The first thing to keep in mind is that if you wake up during witching hour, which is between 2 and 5am, you can take advantage of the thin veil between the world you see and the spiritual realm. This allows you to really enhance meditation and other practices.

In addition to the early morning rituals, here are some spiritual practices to add to your morning routine:

Meditation – Even if you don’t wake up super early, you can still take advantage of the morning for your meditation. Try to do so before you turn on your phone or get distracted by the news. Your mind should be as clear and fresh as possible. If you journal, do that before you begin meditating so you can release any stress or anxious thoughts you have upon waking.

Tarot Reading – This is also a really good time to do a quick tarot reading. Many people choose to just pull one card after shuffling a few times, though there are some basic morning spreads you can do as well. The great thing about morning tarot is that you are more focused and can use your intuition without all the stressful thoughts of the day.

Setting Intentions – You might also want to set intentions during your morning routine. This can be done after a few minutes of meditation and reading your tarot card, or just after a quick journaling session.

Using Affirmations – Finally, consider choosing an affirmation for the day. Typically, you want to go with one that is relevant to what you’re going through that day. So, if you wake up wanting to focus on bringing more love into your life, choose one related to that and you will feel that energy all day.

Nighttime Spiritual Routine

Your nighttime spiritual routine is a little different than the morning one since you are experiencing many of the effects from the day. While you might write in a dream journal or do a brain dump in the morning to get those thoughts out of your head, nighttime journaling might instead be about the day you had and what you got from it.

Here are some more nighttime spiritual practices:

Guided Meditation – Even if you meditated in the morning, it is still a good idea to do it again in the evening before bed. This is when guided meditation comes in handy, because many of them can help to improve your sleep. Choose one that is relaxing and meant to help you sleep soundly, or even to give you more vivid dreams.

Spiritual Bath – The nighttime is also the ideal time for a spiritual bath. The bath itself helps relax your body and mind so that you can sleep better. While the spiritual aspect of the bath can help release negative energy from the day. If you are an empath, you might have energy from people around you that you don’t even realize is affecting you. The bath is the perfect remedy for that.

Crystals for Sleep – Consider bringing some crystals to bed with you to help you sleep. There are crystals for insomnia, those that relieve stress and anxiety, and even some to offer nighttime protection.
